A 17-year-old boy died in hospital from serious injuries after detonating an explosive device in Vorozhbanska community in Sumy region, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov reported.
“Unfortunately, we could not save the 17-year-old boy who detonated an explosive device in Vorozhbanska community. He died in hospital from his injuries,” Hryhorov stated.
According to the Main Demining Directorate, as of September 1, 2026, since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, 1,688 civilians have been killed or injured by enemy mines and explosive remnants, including 173 children.
