About 400,000 Ukrainians are currently employed in Germany, with nearly 350,000 of them paying social insurance contributions. The employment rate reached 39.7% as of June 2026, according to German labor statistics.
The number of employed Ukrainians in Germany is growing at an average rate of more than 5,000 per month. Year-on-year, the number of employed Ukrainians increased by 64,000, while those receiving basic unemployment assistance fell by 19,163 (a 3.9% decrease).
In May 2026, 474,534 Ukrainians in Germany were receiving basic unemployment assistance — a figure that continues to fall as more integrate into the workforce.
