Air Raid Alert in Kyiv and Several Regions Over Ballistic Missile Threat
Ukrainian air defense authorities declared a red-level alert in Kyiv and multiple regions of Ukraine overnight on September 25 due to a threat of ballistic missile fire from the direction of Bryansk, Russia, local authorities announced.
The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) issued an urgent warning urging residents to seek shelter at the nearest safe location immediately. Air Force authorities separately warned of a ballistic weapons threat from the Bryansk direction.
Threat scope and resolution
The alert covered Kyiv and several surrounding regions. Residents were instructed to stay in shelters until the all-clear signal. The alert in Kyiv was lifted at 05:14 local time, though some regions remained on alert.
The ballistic alarm came as part of a broader Russian assault that night, during which Ukrainian air defenses also intercepted drone attacks over the capital.
