At least 17 killed as flash flood sweeps Nepal-Tibet border area

At least 17 people have been killed after a devastating flash flood swept through the Rasuwa district in northern Nepal, an area bordering Tibet. Authorities fear the flood may have swept away entire villages in the remote mountain region.

The disaster struck in Rasuwa, located north of the Nepalese capital Kathmandu along the Nepal-Tibet border. Emergency services have been deployed to the affected area, though access to remote mountain terrain is hampering rescue operations.
