Buildings and Cars Damaged in Lviv Region After Drone Attack
A Russian drone that was shot down during an overnight attack fell on a village in Lviv region on the morning of October 13, causing two houses to catch fire and damaging several vehicles, local authorities reported. Emergency services were dispatched to extinguish the fires.
Western Ukraine increasingly targeted
Lviv region, in western Ukraine, has come under increasing drone and missile attacks in recent months as Russian forces have expanded their targeting to infrastructure and civilian areas beyond the front line. The downed drone caused secondary fires and property damage despite being intercepted.
Ukrainian air defenses have been working to intercept Russian Shahed and other kamikaze drones, but falling debris from downed aircraft can still cause significant damage on the ground. Local authorities urged residents in affected villages to remain calm and report any debris to emergency services.
