Czech PM: Trump Betrayed Europe With His Deal With Putin
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala issued a sharp criticism of Donald Trump on Friday, stating that the US president had 'betrayed Europe' through his deal with Vladimir Putin.
Fiala made the remarks on the sidelines of the EU leaders' summit in Brussels, where discussions centered on how Europe should respond to the apparent shift in American policy toward the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The Czech leader argued that any agreement that prioritizes US-Russia relations at the expense of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity represents a betrayal of the transatlantic alliance.
Czech Republic, Poland, and the Baltic states have been among the most vocal critics of any potential deal that would leave Ukraine in a weakened position. EU leaders at the Brussels summit reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ukraine for as long as necessary.
