1 min read

A Ukrainian Air Force drone fell in Kyiv's Pechersk district on Thursday morning, crashing near a five-story residential building and triggering a car fire that emergency responders quickly brought under control.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the incident, saying the UAV struck an open area beside the residential block and damaged the building's façade, part of the roof, and windows. Two adjacent three-story buildings also sustained façade damage. A car in the courtyard caught fire.

Casualties and Damage

Six people were injured, two of them seriously enough to require hospitalization. Victims suffered shrapnel wounds, burns, and acute stress reactions. Windows in twelve high-rise apartment buildings were blown out, 20 vehicles were damaged, and a secondary school, a sports school, and an administrative building were also affected.

The State Emergency Service said its crews extinguished the blaze promptly. Kyiv city prosecutors opened a criminal investigation.
