Drones attacked several Russian regions overnight on September 17, according to monitoring channels ASTRA and Exilenova+. In Rostov-on-Don, air raid alerts were declared and local residents began posting footage of a large-scale blaze that apparently broke out at the Rostov-on-Don Central military airfield. One of the fire sites was located in the area where aircraft are parked.
The city of Yaroslavl also came under drone attack. The local oil refinery was reportedly hit, with witnesses describing the strike and subsequent fire. Russian authorities did not immediately confirm the incidents. The attacks are consistent with Ukraine's ongoing campaign to target Russian military infrastructure and energy facilities deep inside Russian territory.
