Drones Strike Tuapse Port and Refinery in Russia's Krasnodar Region, Fire Breaks Out

Drones struck the port and oil refinery in the Russian city of Tuapse, Krasnodar region, on the night of April 20, triggering a series of explosions and a large fire, according to eyewitness reports cited by monitoring channels.

Attack on a Strategic Target

The Tuapse Oil Refinery (TNPZ) is a strategically important facility owned by Rosneft and is one of Russia's largest refineries, specializing in primary crude oil processing. The refinery has been a target of drone strikes multiple times since the beginning of the full-scale war. A significant fire was reported at the site following the latest attack.

In response to the drone threat, authorities imposed temporary flight restrictions at airports in Krasnodar and Gelendzhik, disrupting civilian air traffic in the region.

The Russian monitoring channel ASTRA and the Exilenova+ channel reported the attack, citing multiple eyewitnesses who confirmed explosions at both the port and refinery facilities. The scale of the fire was described as substantial.

Ukrainian drones have repeatedly targeted Russian energy infrastructure, including refineries and fuel depots, as part of a broader campaign to degrade Russia's war-making capacity and fuel supply chains.
