Enzo Maresca: New Man City Boss Talks Replacing Guardiola, AI and Captaincy Dilemma

Enzo Maresca has taken on perhaps one of the most daunting tasks in European football — succeeding Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Having served as Guardiola's assistant during the club's historic Treble-winning season, Maresca returned to the Etihad this summer as the head coach following Guardiola's departure after a 17-trophy reign.

Speaking to UK-based media in Seoul during City's pre-season tour, Maresca discussed his approach to tactical analysis using AI tools, saying the technology can process vast amounts of match data far faster than traditional methods.

He also touched on the captaincy situation, calling it one of the more difficult decisions he faces early in his tenure, as the club navigates a transitional period without its talismanic former manager.
