Estonia Adds €10 Million to PURL Weapons Program for Ukraine
Estonia announced on October 22 a new €10 million contribution to the PURL program for buying weapons for Ukraine. Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said so on X, as reported by European Pravda.
Tsahkna said the new money brings Estonia's total aid through this mechanism to €31 million. According to him, the funds will help Ukraine obtain badly needed air defense systems and ammunition. Overall, Estonia's military assistance to Kyiv this year amounts to 0.3% of its GDP. The foreign minister promised further support from his government.
“Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure have left hundreds of thousands of people without electricity. With winter approaching, this support is vital for protecting lives and keeping essential services running. The stronger Ukraine can defend itself, the less Russia can dictate the terms of peace. We must keep supporting Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia,” Tsahkna wrote.

Prime Minister Kristen Michal said Russia wants to force Europe to focus on its own problems and drift away from supporting Ukraine. Defense Minister Martin Herem, in an interview with European Pravda, answered suspicions that NATO benefits from a prolonged war and stressed the need to back Ukraine so that it can win.
