Military analysts predict that the capture of the frontline village of Hryshyne, located near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, is imminent due to overwhelming Russian infantry deployments. However, Ukrainian forces, specifically the 7th Air Assault Corps, report that they are fiercely contesting head-on assaults and have even managed to push Russian troops back from certain positions within the settlement.
According to the analytical project DeepState, Russian forces are heavily funneling manpower from nearby Pokrovsk into Hryshyne, attempting to establish a firm foothold. Ukrainian Defense Forces are actively countering these efforts with search-and-strike operations, targeting and neutralizing Russian infantry occupying houses on the northern edges of the village.
Representatives of Ukraine's 7th Air Assault Corps confirmed that Russian troops failed in their attempts to outflank Hryshyne and have resorted to direct, frontal assaults. These daily attacks involve both infantry squads and light maneuverable vehicles, such as motorcycles and ATVs.
Despite the intense pressure, the 7th Corps maintains that Ukrainian units are holding their defensive lines, effectively blocking the Russian advance from the east toward the center of Hryshyne. "Recently, the enemy has lost several positions within the settlement," the 7th Air Assault Corps stated.
DeepState analysts highlight that Russia is committing vast human resources to this sector. The immediate Russian tactical goal appears to be advancing along the Hryshyne-Myrne-Hulive-Shylivka axis towards the Pavlohrad highway. While this open terrain is highly unfavorable for troop movement, analysts note that Russian forces have already achieved their primary objective in this specific area: severing the highway by placing it under direct fire control.
The situation remains critical across several surrounding areas:
In a broader context, DeepState recently reported Russian advances near two villages in the Donetsk region and Varvarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, while Ukrainian forces successfully conducted clearing operations in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
