Fierce Battles Escalate: Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka Face the Heaviest Enemy Assaults on Sunday

On Sunday, March 29, the frontlines witnessed intense military engagements, with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reporting a total of 123 combat clashes by 22:00. The occupying forces concentrated their most aggressive efforts in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions, relentlessly attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses.

The Hottest Zones: Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka

The Pokrovsk sector emerged as the epicenter of Sunday's hostilities, enduring 25 enemy attacks. Russian forces sought to advance near multiple settlements, including Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Udachne, Toretske, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Novomykolaivka, Biliakivka, Molodetske, Dachne, Filiia, Novopavlivka, and towards Hannivka. As of the evening report, two firefights were still actively raging in this area.

Similarly, the Kostiantynivka direction experienced heavy pressure with 22 assaults. Ukrainian defenders successfully held their ground near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Kleban-Byk, Stepanivka, Rusyniv Yar, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka, with two clashes remaining ongoing.

Eastern Front Defenses Hold Firm

Across other eastern sectors, Ukrainian troops repelled numerous coordinated assaults:

• Kupiansk Direction: Defenders thwarted 10 enemy storming attempts around Novoosynove, Petropavlivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, Bohuslavka, Novoplatonivka, and Borivska Andriivka.
• Lyman Direction: The adversary made three attempts to push forward near Cherneshchyna and Novoserhiivka, with two battles continuing.
• Sloviansk & Kramatorsk Directions: Five attacks were repelled near Rai-Oleksandrivka, Platonivka, Zakitne, and Kalenyky, along with two additional attempts near Fedorivka Druha and Mykolaivka.

Southern Front and Border Shelling

In the south, the Huliaipole direction saw 10 enemy attacks targeting areas like Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipole, and Myrne. Airstrikes hit Vozdvyzhenske, Shyroke, and Dolynka. The Oleksandrivka sector faced nine assaults aimed at improving Russian tactical positions near Andriivka-Klevtsove, Oleksandrohrad, Sichneve, Zlahoda, Ternove, Vyshneve, Rybne, and Krasnohirske, accompanied by guided bomb strikes on Lisne and Pokrovske.

Meanwhile, the Orikhiv direction reported an attack near Prymorske and an airstrike on Zarichne. In the north, the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions endured 92 shellings targeting Ukrainian positions and civilian settlements, including three instances involving multiple rocket launch systems (MLRS). A single assault was recorded in the South Slobozhanskyi direction near Vilcha.
