Kramatorsk Expands Mandatory Child Evacuation Zone Amid Worsening Security

1 min read

Donetsk regional military administration head Vadym Filashkin announced an expansion of the mandatory forced evacuation zone for children from certain areas of Kramatorsk, citing deteriorating security conditions in the city located just over 20 kilometers from the front line.

Evacuation procedure

"Evacuation will be carried out accompanied by parents, persons who replace them, or legal representatives. Local military administrations, police, rescuers and the children's services are involved in the work," Filashkin stated on Facebook.

He emphasized that the decision was made to prevent new casualties among children and that residents would be accompanied at every stage — from departure through the reception point to placement in safer regions of Ukraine.

Urgency of the situation

"The security situation is deteriorating, and waiting for danger to come directly to your home is too great a risk. Especially when it comes to children. I urge parents not to delay. Evacuation saves lives," the regional head stressed. A list of streets subject to evacuation has been published.
