Kremlin Says It 'Fully Agrees' With Trump's Latest Statements About Zelensky

1 min read

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Friday that Moscow 'fully agrees' with Donald Trump's recent statements characterizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a difficult negotiating partner and obstacle to peace.

The statement drew immediate alarm from European leaders and Ukrainian officials who see the Kremlin's endorsement of Trump's rhetoric as evidence of coordinated messaging aimed at pressuring Ukraine into unfavorable peace terms.

Trump earlier this week claimed that Zelensky was 'more difficult to deal with than Putin,' a remark that was widely condemned by US allies in Europe. The Kremlin's rapid and enthusiastic endorsement of these comments has amplified fears that Russian propaganda is finding an echo in statements from Washington.

EU leaders meeting in Brussels on Friday reaffirmed their commitment to Ukraine and rejected any peace settlement that cedes Ukrainian territory to Russia.
