A Russian drone struck a 12-storey residential building in Kyiv's Desnianskyi district on the evening of October 7, killing two people and starting a fire that spread to upper floors, Ukraine's DSNS emergency service reported on the morning of October 8.

Attack Details

The drone impacted at the 10th floor level, triggering a fire across 100 square metres and partial structural collapse. Rescuers saved 22 people including eight children; four were hospitalised, two of them children.

Victims Found

Search teams discovered the bodies of two victims inside a damaged apartment. All floors were checked to confirm no one remained trapped.

The strike was part of Russia's broader October 7 mass attack that killed 28 across Ukraine, including 20 in Pryluky.
