Kyiv Reproductologist Igor Ilyin Dies from Wounds After Shooting Attack

Igor Ilyin, 71, the director of the IHR medical center in Kyiv, has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a shooting attack. He was shot more than 20 times on September 3 in Kyiv's Sviatoshyn district.

The Attack

The attacker was a man whose wife had died after receiving treatment at Ilyin's clinic. The suspect abandoned his military unit without permission before carrying out the attack and was detained on September 8.

Ilyin was the director of a medical center specializing in reproductive medicine. He had been hospitalized in critical condition following the attack and did not survive his injuries.
