Kyiv Launches Shuttle Trains Between City's Two Banks
Kyiv authorities are introducing additional shuttle commuter train services between Vydubichi and Darnytsia stations from October 5 to 9. The service is designed to relieve congestion on the city's bridges during peak morning and evening hours.
Schedule and Route
The shuttle trains will operate during peak commuting periods throughout the workweek. The route connects the right and left banks of the Dnipro River, offering an alternative to road crossings that are frequently congested.
Vydubichi station is located on the right bank of the city, while Darnytsia serves the left-bank districts. The rail link provides a faster and more predictable connection for commuters crossing the river.
Why the Shuttles Are Needed
Kyiv's bridges face significant traffic pressure, particularly during morning and evening rush hours. The temporary rail service is expected to divert a portion of passengers from roads and reduce travel times for those commuting between the two banks.
City transport officials have encouraged residents to use the shuttle service as a convenient and environmentally friendly alternative during the five-day period.
