Kyiv Reopens Red Metro Line, but Chernihivska Station Stays Closed
From the morning of October 20, trains on Kyiv's red metro line are again running between the Akademmistechko and Lisova stations, but they pass through Chernihivska without stopping, the Kyiv City Military Administration said on social media.
Lisova station has resumed normal operation, while Chernihivska is temporarily closed to passengers. The authorities say its reopening will be announced separately.
Damage from the mass attack
As previously reported, Chernihivska station was damaged the day before during a massive overnight attack on the capital. Stained-glass windows, the platform and the facade of the station were damaged, and the attack also hit the tracks, the contact rail and the power-supply and traffic-control systems.
Over the course of the previous day, more than 70 specialists from various departments of Kyiv Metro worked on the section to eliminate the consequences of the massive shelling as quickly as possible. More in our World section.
