Kyiv-Slavutych Train Evacuated in Open Field Amid Strike Threat

A passenger train operated by Ukrzaliznytsia, traveling on the Kyiv-Slavutych route, was forced to make an emergency stop in the Chernihiv region due to an imminent threat of aerial strikes. Approximately 100 passengers were evacuated directly into an open field.

Emergency Halt Near Nizhyn

According to a correspondent from Ukrainska Pravda, the incident occurred near the city of Nizhyn. As a heightened danger warning was issued during an ongoing air raid alert, railway officials made the swift decision to halt the train mid-journey. Passengers were instructed to disembark immediately, seeking safety in the surrounding fields away from the railway infrastructure.

Prolonged Air Raid Alert

The evacuation took place against the backdrop of an extended period of danger in the area. At the time of the incident, the air raid alert in the Chernihiv region had been continuously active for 10 hours, underscoring the severe security situation.
