Kyiv South Bridge Hit Again as Mayor Warns of Very Dramatic Situation

1 min read

Russian drones struck Kyiv South Bridge again on Friday evening, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. The bridge remains closed to road traffic and metro after multiple attacks over recent days.

Repeated Strikes on Key Crossing

"Another hit on the South Bridge. I remind you that the bridge, after several enemy attacks, is currently closed to motor vehicles and metro," Klitschko wrote. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene.

On the morning of October 1, two drones struck near the support structure of the bridge; the same day Russian forces attacked it again. In the early hours of October 2, further attacks followed before this latest evening strike.

Hundreds of Thousands Affected Daily

Seven major bridges connect the eastern and western banks of Kyiv across the Dnipro River. City estimates put daily commuters at around 500,000. Klitschko stated the capital is in a "very dramatic situation": "The enemy is tearing Kyiv apart." Russia claimed its drones also struck a Dnipro bridge, a power plant, and the port of Izmail.
