Kyiv's Obolon District Hit by Drones: Warehouse and Buildings Struck

1 min read

Russian unmanned aerial vehicles struck Kyiv's Obolon district on the evening of September 28, 2026. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported hits on a non-residential building and a warehouse at two separate locations. Shortly after, a second strike on a building in the Obolon district was confirmed, followed by reports of an impact in the Solomyansky district.

The evening attacks came amid a mass drone assault that targeted multiple Ukrainian cities throughout the day. Kyiv's air defence systems were active throughout, with firefighters and emergency services responding to damage across the capital. By evening, the city's total toll for the day stood at 24 wounded and one woman killed.

The Obolon district strikes caused damage to infrastructure but no casualties were reported in connection with these specific hits. Search and rescue operations continued at the National Academy of Sciences building in the Shevchenkivsky district, where one person remained missing under rubble from an earlier strike.
