Ukrainian prosecutors have announced the detention of two local residents following an explosion at a military recruitment and social support center (TsKK) in Mykolaiv, Lviv Oblast, on September 17. The blast wounded a military officer serving at the center.

How the Attack Unfolded

Before the explosion, a Daewoo Lanos vehicle drove past the open gates of the military facility. Surveillance cameras captured a passenger throwing an explosive device from the car onto the territory of the center. A soldier approached the device, and it detonated at that moment, injuring the 55-year-old officer. He was hospitalized in moderate condition at the Mykolaiv district hospital.

Criminal Case Opened

The Lviv Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense Matters opened a criminal case under Part 2, Article 258 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code — a terrorist act resulting in grave consequences. Investigators detained two local residents in connection with the attack. The initial explosion was reported by the Lviv Regional TsKK and Social Support center in the evening hours.

The incident is part of a broader pattern of attacks on military recruitment infrastructure in Ukraine amid the ongoing war with Russia.
