Man Charged After Racist Traffic Cone Attack on Delivery Driver in Glasgow

Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old man with racially aggravated assault after a traffic cone was thrown at delivery driver Muhammad Jawad Yaqoob, 31, during disorder that followed an anti-immigration protest in Glasgow city centre on 25 July.

The footage of the attack, which showed a cone being hurled at the driver, was filmed and widely circulated on social media, drawing widespread condemnation. The suspect was arrested in the Govan area of Glasgow.

Fifteen people were detained on the day of the protests at Glasgow Green. Police Scotland said investigations into the disorder remain ongoing.
