
The Russian city of Taganrog, located in the Rostov region, has been subjected to a large-scale drone assault, resulting in casualties, widespread damage, and civilian evacuations. Local authorities and social media channels have confirmed the intensity of the strikes, which occurred late on March 29.
According to reports from the independent news outlet Astra and various social media platforms, the bombardment lasted for more than two hours. Local residents and online commentators described the incident as the most severe attack on Taganrog since the outbreak of the full-scale war, sharing accounts of powerful explosions echoing across the city.
Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova officially acknowledged the massive nature of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) assault. Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar provided further grim details, confirming that the strikes have claimed the life of at least one person and left another injured.
In a public statement, Governor Slyusar detailed the immediate aftermath: "There are fires and destruction on the ground. People have been evacuated. Data is being clarified." He further noted that efforts to repel the airborne threat were still actively underway within the city limits, and a general drone danger alert had been issued for the entire Rostov region.
