New Explosions Rock Kyiv Without Prior Air Raid Warning
Several explosions rang out across Kyiv on Monday evening, catching residents off guard as no air raid siren had sounded beforehand. Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko issued an urgent message: \“Explosions in the city. Stay in shelters!\”
What Happened
Immediately after the blasts, a red danger level was declared for the city. Ukraine's Air Force reported detecting high-speed targets heading toward Kyiv, which analysts interpret as ballistic missiles or advanced drones that outpace standard warning systems.
The incident follows an earlier attack the same evening in which a Russian drone struck a 25-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district, killing two people and injuring eleven.
Air Defense Context
The lack of advance warning underscores the challenge Ukrainian air defenses face against high-velocity projectiles. Residents were urged to remain in shelters until an all-clear signal.
