Poland searches near Lublin for object that may have entered airspace
An unidentified object may have violated Polish airspace overnight into Sunday, and a search operation is under way near Lublin, Poland's Operational Command of the Armed Forces said.
Search south of Lublin
A ground search-and-rescue team from the Territorial Defense Forces was sent to the area south of Lublin, joined by police and military gendarmerie. The measures aim to verify a recorded radar signal and reports from local residents, and to establish the type of the object or confirm that the signal was caused by weather phenomena or anomalies. No violation of Polish airspace has been confirmed so far.
TVN24 reported that the search is focused around the Zemborzyce reservoir, within Lublin's city limits about 10 km from the center. Police spokeswoman Anna Kamola said officers received three reports around 2 a.m. about a "loud flying object" in the sky; none said anything fell or exploded. More in World.
