Poland Warns of Delays in US Arms Deliveries Amid Policy Uncertainty
Polish officials issued a warning on October 12, 2026, that ongoing policy shifts in Washington under the Trump administration could result in delays or reductions in US arms deliveries to Ukraine. Poland called on European NATO allies to proactively develop contingency supply arrangements.
Polish Assessment
The warning came from Poland's Deputy Defense Minister, who indicated that intelligence assessments and signals from Washington suggest that certain weapons systems and ammunition resupply orders are experiencing administrative delays linked to the energy ceasefire process. Poland itself has been one of the largest European suppliers of military aid to Ukraine.
European Response
Several European countries, including Germany, France, and the UK, have ramped up their own defense production and pledged to maintain or increase military support for Ukraine. EU defense ministers are scheduled to discuss a coordinated European arms supply framework at their next meeting.
