Polish PM Expects Russia to Escalate Hybrid War by Christmas
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued a stark warning about Russia's escalating hybrid warfare campaign, predicting it will intensify before Christmas. Tusk made the remarks amid growing concern across Europe about Russian sabotage, disinformation, cyberattacks, and infrastructure disruption targeting NATO member states.
Pattern of Hybrid Aggression
Russia's hybrid war toolkit has expanded significantly over the past two years, encompassing drone attacks on airports and logistics hubs, arson campaigns against freight and warehouses, GPS jamming affecting civil aviation, and coordinated disinformation operations targeting European populations ahead of elections.
Poland, as a frontline NATO state and one of Ukraine's main logistics corridors, has been particularly targeted. Polish security services have documented dozens of suspected Russian intelligence operations on Polish soil over the past year.
Call for Preparedness
Tusk called for European allies to step up monitoring, intelligence sharing, and counter-hybrid capabilities. His warning comes as European governments are increasingly recognising hybrid warfare as a daily reality rather than a distant threat.
