A major new report on the global Jewish diaspora has identified the United Kingdom as the country experiencing the sharpest rise in antisemitism among Jewish communities worldwide. The findings highlight a disturbing trend of increasing hostility toward Jewish people in one of the countries with the largest Jewish populations outside Israel.

The report further noted that 2025 was the deadliest year for Jewish people living outside Israel in more than three decades, marking a grim milestone amid a broader global surge in antisemitic incidents.

Roots of the Surge

Researchers linked the increase in antisemitism to multiple factors, including the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the spread of antisemitic content on social media platforms, and the mainstreaming of conspiracy theories targeting Jewish communities.

In the UK specifically, incidents ranged from verbal abuse and intimidation to physical attacks, with Jewish community organizations reporting record levels of reported incidents over the past year. Universities, public spaces, and online environments were cited as particularly problematic.

Government and Community Responses
