Russia Launched 160+ Targets at Ukraine; Air Defense Neutralized Most

1 min read

Russia carried out one of the largest single-day aerial bombardments of Ukraine, launching 157 attack drones and 6 S-8000 "Banderol"/"Dan-T" ballistic missiles at Ukrainian territory over the course of the day. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 140 drones and successfully intercepted all incoming ballistic missiles.

Scale of the Attack

The combined use of kamikaze drones alongside the newer S-8000 series represents an escalating pattern in Russia's aerial campaign. Ukrainian officials reported that air defense units worked throughout the day to intercept the waves of incoming threats.

Remaining Threats

A portion of the drones—primarily the slower Shahed-type—were not shot down but were lost to jamming or other counter-drone measures rather than reaching their targets. The Ukrainian Air Force said the overall interception rate was exceptionally high, reflecting continued improvements in coordinated air defense coverage across the country.
