Russia Hits Railway Objects in Lutsk and Fastiv with Drones, Train Cars Set on Fire

Russian forces launched drone attacks against railway objects in Lutsk, Volyn region, and Fastiv, Kyiv region, on Saturday afternoon, hitting both sites in the latest attack on Ukraine's rail network. No casualties were reported.

Ukrzaliznytsia stated that the monitoring group detected the threat in time to evacuate passengers before impact. "The enemy is attacking the railway again. As of now — hits in Lutsk and Fastiv. Thanks to the timely detection of the threat by Ukrzaliznytsia's monitoring group and the evacuation of passengers — no one was hurt," the company said.

Fire in Lutsk, Shaheds Across the Sky

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine confirmed that train cars caught fire in Lutsk following the Russian strike. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and no injuries were reported to emergency services. Ukrzaliznytsia warned the attack was ongoing with "flocks of Shaheds" in Ukrainian airspace, and advised passengers to expect possible schedule changes.

The governor of Volyn region, Roman Romaniuk, had earlier warned of a mass drone attack in the region and urged residents to take shelter. Targeted rail strikes on depots and junctions have been a recurring element of Russia's air campaign, aimed at disrupting military logistics and civilian supply chains.
