Russia Drops Five Guided Bombs on Kramatorsk, 9 Civilians Wounded

Russian forces launched a morning airstrike on Kramatorsk in Donetsk region on September 9, dropping five FAB-250 guided bombs equipped with UMPK glide kits. Nine civilians sustained injuries as a result of the attack.

Casualties and Damage

According to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the victims range in age from 49 to 80 years. Their injuries include blast trauma and lacerations. Twenty-seven private homes and one vehicle were damaged in the strike.

The death toll initially reported stood at four women aged 59, 70, 74, and a 72-year-old man; by late afternoon the total number of wounded had risen to nine as more victims were identified.

Pattern of Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure

Kramatorsk, a major city in the government-controlled part of Donetsk region, has been repeatedly targeted by Russian forces throughout the war. The use of FAB-250 guided bombs — large aircraft-dropped munitions adapted with precision-glide units — against residential areas reflects a broader Russian tactic of striking civilian infrastructure far behind the front line.
