Russia Drops 5 Guided Bombs on Sumy, at Least 5 Wounded and Fire Breaks Out
Russian forces struck the Sumy community with five guided aerial bombs (KABs) on the morning of October 4, wounding at least five people — two of them seriously — and igniting a fire at a civilian infrastructure facility, regional authorities reported.
Bomb Strikes Near Residential Building
One of the strikes landed near a multi-storey residential building. A fire also broke out at a civilian infrastructure facility targeted in the attack, and authorities asked residents to close their windows and limit time outdoors due to smoke and debris risk.
Sumy Regional Military Administration stated that the information on casualties and damage was still being updated at the time of the report. Two of the five injured received serious wounds; the others are receiving treatment.
Pattern of Attacks on Sumy
The strike was part of a broader pattern of Russian attacks on Sumy city and region. Russian forces have repeatedly targeted civilian infrastructure, residential areas, and industrial facilities in Sumy, which is located close to the Russian border.
