Russia Kills 3 Civilians in Zaporizhia Night Strike

1 min read

Russian occupation forces launched overnight strikes against the settlement of Komyshuvacha and the village of Novotavriiske in Ukraine's Zaporizhia region early Sunday, killing three civilians and wounding four more.

Ukrainian officials confirmed the attacks, stating that drone and artillery fire targeted residential areas in both communities. Emergency services and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene to assist the wounded and assess damage to infrastructure.

The strike is the latest in a series of Russian attacks targeting civilian populations across southern and eastern Ukraine. Zaporizhia, home to Europe's largest nuclear power plant, has been under sustained Russian pressure throughout the war.

Ukraine's General Staff reported that fighting remains intense across multiple fronts, with Russian forces continuing to press attacks in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions. The overnight attack in Zaporizhia underscores the ongoing danger faced by civilians far from the front lines.

International condemnation of Russian strikes on civilian areas has continued to mount, with Western allies reiterating calls for accountability and increased support for Ukraine's air defence capabilities.
