Russia Launches Massive Missile and Drone Attack on 20 Ukrainian Locations

Russia unleashed a large-scale overnight attack on Ukraine on Friday, targeting energy infrastructure and military installations across 20 locations with a combination of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and Shahed-136 drones.

Scale of the Attack

Ukraine's Air Force said the attack involved dozens of missiles of various types and over 40 Shahed drones. Air defence units worked to intercept the incoming projectiles, and the military said most were shot down before reaching their targets.

Damage and Casualties

Despite the interceptions, several missiles got through, causing damage to power stations and industrial facilities in central and eastern Ukraine. Authorities reported multiple injuries and at least two fatalities from falling debris and direct hits.

Ukrainian Response

President Zelensky condemned the attack and called on allies to accelerate the delivery of additional air defence systems. Emergency crews worked across the country to restore power to affected regions.
