1 min read

Russia's mass missile and drone strike on Ukraine on October 7 killed 28 people across multiple cities, Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi announced. Among the dead were five children in Pryluky, the youngest just one year old.

Casualties Across Four Cities

Twenty people died in Pryluky, including five children. Deaths were also recorded in Kremenchuk, Oleksandriia, and Kyiv. The evening strike on a residential building in Kyiv's Desnianskyi district killed two people.

Rescue Operations

Emergency personnel and police rescued 29 people from rubble and burning structures, most of them in Pryluky. A widely circulated image showed DSNS officer Pavlo Levchenko carrying a five-year-old girl he and colleagues pulled from the debris along with her mother — both had been thrown outside by the blast wave. Rubble clearance continued for more than 14 hours.

Pryluky, Kremenchuk, Oleksandriia, Kyiv — today's strikes took 28 lives. In Pryluky, five of the 20 dead were children, three of them only one year old — Vyhivskyi wrote.

In Kremenchuk, patrol officers evacuated residents in the first minutes after the strike and transported the wounded to ambulances, Vyhivskyi added.
