Russia Protests Romania's Arrest of Russian Citizen Suspected of Sabotage Planning

Russia's embassy in Bucharest reacted with indignation to reports of a large-scale operation by Romanian services that disrupted alleged Russian sabotage preparations and resulted in the 30-day detention of a Russian national, Ukrainska Pravda reported.

Romanian authorities arrested the suspect as part of operations to counter foreign interference and sabotage activities on Romanian territory. The Russian side characterized the arrest as unacceptable and demanded consular access to the detained citizen.
