Russia Ready to Resume Talks With Ukraine After November 4
Moscow is ready to resume three-way talks with Ukraine and the United States after November 4, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said on October 25.
Russia's RBC reported his remarks, which he made to the state television channel Vesti.
A "trial" round
According to Ushakov, Russia is ready to return to negotiations after November 4, when Russia marks National Unity Day. He added that he does not expect significant results from the first three-way meeting after the pause.
"Now the next deadline is November 4, our big holiday. After that we will be ready to resume negotiations. You cannot settle much at the first meeting either; it will probably be of a trial nature," Ushakov said.
National Unity Day is a Russian state holiday observed on November 4 since 2005. It is dedicated to the events of 1612, when a people's militia freed Moscow from the Polish garrison. The holiday effectively replaced the day off on November 7, linked to the anniversary of the October Revolution.
Where the talks could be held
According to US government sources, the next round of talks between delegations of the US, Ukraine and Russia could take place in Abu Dhabi or Switzerland. Ushakov also said that preparations for a meeting of Putin, Trump and Xi have begun.
