Russian forces carried out a series of aviation bomb strikes on the frontline city of Kramatorsk and the nearby settlement of Belenke in the Donetsk region of Ukraine on the evening of August 13, according to regional governor Vadym Filashkin.

Eight Strikes in Under Half an Hour

According to Filashkin, eight strikes hit Kramatorsk and Belenke between 20:30 and 20:56 local time. Preliminary reports indicate Russian forces used aviation bombs in the attacks.

At least one person was killed and 15 others were wounded in the strikes. Filashkin confirmed that a residential apartment building was hit, with ongoing assessment of further damage.

Ongoing Target

Kramatorsk, a major urban center in the Donetsk region, has been subjected to repeated Russian air attacks. On July 31, four aviation bombs struck the city, killing one person and injuring 11. The day before that, five FAB bombs hit the city, with one landing on a residential high-rise and injuring six people.

On the night of July 20, Russia also struck Kramatorsk with six bombs. The city, situated in territory controlled by Ukraine, remains one of the most frequently targeted locations in the ongoing war.
