Russia Strikes Mykolaiv Energy Infrastructure, Causing Partial Blackout

Russian forces struck energy infrastructure in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv on Saturday evening, September 12, causing partial electricity outages across multiple districts of the regional center, acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration (RMA) Georgiy Reshetilov reported.

Reshetilov stated: 'In the evening, the enemy attacked Mykolaiv's energy infrastructure. Several districts of the regional center have been partially de-energized.' He added that energy workers would begin restoring power supplies as soon as the security situation allowed.

Mykolaiv has been a frequent target of Russian strikes throughout the war due to its strategic location near the Black Sea coast and its proximity to Kherson. The city's energy infrastructure has been attacked repeatedly, leaving residents and businesses to cope with rolling blackouts. Saturday's strike is part of a broader Russian campaign to exhaust Ukrainian power generation capacity ahead of winter.
