1 min read

Russian forces struck two residential apartment buildings in Sloviansk, a city in the Donetsk region, on the morning of October 11, injuring at least four people. Emergency services and rescue teams were deployed to the scene, with officials warning that additional victims may remain trapped under rubble.

Details of the attack

"On October 11 at 09:45, the enemy carried out an airstrike on Sloviansk. Direct hits on two apartment buildings. Four wounded are currently known. All are receiving medical assistance," said city mayor Vadym Liakh on Facebook, where he also shared photos and video footage from the site.

President Zelensky separately stated that an entire stairwell entrance of a five-story building was completely destroyed and that people may still be trapped beneath the debris.

Ongoing attacks on civilians

Sloviansk, located approximately 20 kilometers from the front line, has been a regular target of Russian bombardment throughout the war. The city's civilian infrastructure has suffered repeated damage, prompting ongoing evacuation efforts for residents, particularly families with children.
