Russian Drone Kills Four Civilians in Sumy Region

A Russian FPV drone attack on a civilian car killed four people in the Shostka district of Sumy region on Saturday, September 19. The attack was confirmed by Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

Victims

Among the dead are a married couple — a 58-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman — as well as a 45-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman. All four died at the scene. The attack took place on a public road, and the vehicle was completely destroyed by the drone strike.

Context

Russia regularly targets civilian vehicles in Sumy region using FPV drones, which are small, agile unmanned aircraft operated via first-person video feed. The attacks are particularly deadly in border regions where civilian movement cannot easily be avoided.
