In the early hours of March 31, Russian forces launched a drone assault on the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa, striking a multi-story residential complex. The attack sparked a localized fire and left at least one civilian injured, according to local authorities.

Impact on the Kyivskyi District

Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, confirmed the incident, stating that the enemy deployed strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) toward the city just before dawn. "Unfortunately, a hit was recorded on a nine-story residential building in the Kyivskyi district," Lysak reported.

The drone strike caused significant architectural damage to the structure. Officials noted that the building's facade, several balconies, and windows spanning the second through fourth floors were destroyed or heavily damaged. The resulting blaze was swiftly brought under control and extinguished by rapid response teams.

Casualties and Emergency Response

Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, provided updates on the casualties. He confirmed that a 50-year-old male resident sustained a laceration to his forearm during the attack.

The victim is currently receiving all necessary medical treatment. Meanwhile, emergency responders and municipal utility services remain deployed at the site to assess the structural integrity of the building and clear the debris.
