Russian Drone Strikes Kyiv Oblast Lyceum, Fire Burns 300 Square Metres

1 min read

A Russian drone struck the Ivankiv Lyceum No. 2 in Vyshhorod district, Kyiv Oblast, on the evening of September 25, setting fire to the school building. Kyiv Oblast Governor Tymur Tkachenko and Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi confirmed the attack.

Scale of the Damage

According to Tkachenko, the fire engulfed more than 300 square metres of the building. Firefighters worked at the scene to contain the blaze. The school, which normally educates about 1,100 children, had no students inside at the time. A security guard present at the facility was also unharmed.

There are no words. To attacks on civilian targets, the Russians now add terror against public infrastructure — they hit schools where children study. This is another blow to peaceful life, Tkachenko said.

Part of a Wider Wave of Attacks

The strike on the Ivankiv Lyceum came on the same day that a Russian drone also fell on a preschool building in Kyiv's Obolon district. Russian forces launched 162 strike drones against Ukraine on September 25, killing seven people and wounding 59.
