Russian forces launched drone attacks on the city of Nizhyn in Ukraine's Chernihiv region on Saturday, September 12. Two attack drones struck the area, damaging a warehouse used for food storage as well as private residential buildings, outbuildings, and cars belonging to local residents.

No casualties were reported following the attack. Emergency services were deployed to the scene to assess the damage to the food warehouse and surrounding properties.

Continued Targeting of Civilian Infrastructure

The strike on Nizhyn's food warehouse is part of a wider Russian campaign targeting civilian supply infrastructure across northern and eastern Ukraine. Chernihiv region has come under repeated drone and missile strikes since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022. Ukrainian authorities have documented extensive damage to agricultural facilities, food storage sites, and distribution networks as part of Russia's strategy to pressure the civilian population.
