Russian drones strike shopping centers in Rivne and Sumy, Ukraine
Russian drones struck civilian shopping centers in two Ukrainian cities on Friday — Rivne in the northwest and Sumy in the northeast — Ukrainian authorities confirmed. In Sumy, several civilians who were inside a shopping center at the time of the attack were wounded.
Attack on Rivne
A Russian drone hit a large shopping and entertainment complex (TRC) in Rivne, causing significant structural damage. Emergency rescue services rushed to the scene. The strike follows a pattern of Russian attacks on civilian locations across Ukraine.
Attack on Sumy
In Sumy, a drone targeted a shopping center (TC) during morning business hours. Several people were injured. Ukrainian air defense forces were scrambled but could not intercept all incoming drones. The attacks are part of a broader Russian campaign targeting civilian infrastructure ahead of winter.
