Russian Losses Over Past Day: 1,750 Soldiers Killed and Wounded
Daily Update from Ukraine's General Staff
Ukraine's General Staff has reported that Russian forces suffered approximately 1,750 casualties — killed and wounded — during the past 24-hour reporting period, according to data published on October 2, 2026. The cumulative total of Russian military personnel losses since the launch of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, now stands at approximately 1,537,620.
Record September Losses and Continuing Attrition
The latest figures follow a record-setting September 2026, during which Russian forces suffered an estimated 46,230 personnel losses — the highest single-month figure recorded by Ukraine in 2026 and a 46 percent increase over January's figures. According to the General Staff, Russia has also lost more than 12,388 tanks, over 25,464 armored combat vehicles, and more than 50,555 artillery systems since the war began.
Ukraine's military leadership has emphasized that Russian forces are being expended at a historically unsustainable pace along multiple front-line directions, with no sign of a slowdown in offensive operations. The General Staff publishes updated casualty figures daily based on battlefield data and intelligence assessments.
