Russian Strike on Dnipro Ignites Fire in Apartment Building, Three Women Injured

1 min read
Russian forces attacked the city of Dnipro on the evening of October 2, 2026, sparking a fire in a multi-story residential building. Three women were injured in the attack and received medical assistance on scene. According to Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration head Oleksandr Hanzha, rescue teams were working to extinguish the fire and managed to evacuate six people from upper floors of the building during the operation. The attack comes amid an intensified pattern of Russian strikes against Ukrainian cities this week, with Kyiv also sustaining drone attacks targeting bridge infrastructure. Dnipro has repeatedly been a target of Russian missile and drone attacks throughout the full-scale war. Emergency services continued working at the scene as of the initial report, and casualty numbers may be subject to revision as the situation develops.
