Drone Attack Reportedly Sets Togliattikauchuk Plant on Fire in Tolyatti

1 min read

The Togliattikauchuk plant in the Russian city of Tolyatti came under drone attack early on Saturday, October 24, and a fire broke out, according to Telegram channels including Exilenova+ and Supernova+. The reports have not been officially confirmed.

Photos and videos of the aftermath were posted on social media. Posts said that locals were writing about a strong fire at the plant and continued to record drones. There were also reports of a possible evacuation of AvtoVAZ.

What the plant makes

Togliattikauchuk specializes in synthetic rubbers, monomers, fractions and high-octane gasoline additives. According to Ukrainian military sources, synthetic rubbers are used, among other things, to make solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles.

Not the first attack

This is not the first attack on the plant, which works for Russia's military-industrial complex. Ukraine's Defense Forces already attacked Togliattikauchuk on the night of September 12. Earlier, in April, drones also attacked Tolyatti; according to Telegram channels, two chemical plants were hit and fires broke out. More in our world news.
